Details: Infrastructure Canberra is responsible for leading and supporting the procurement and delivery of the ACT Government’s infrastructure programs. They deliver infrastructure for the Canberra community, improving liveability, and enabling a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable city.
Within the Delivery Places and Spaces Branch, the Community and Government Engagement Team provides a centralised customer service, business development, and lease management area to support and manage tenants, customers, and clients. The team provides professional building management where property and services are provided to government and non-government clients, and hireable venues spaces and precincts.
They are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic candidate to fill the role of Venues Operations Manager for several well-known hireable venues in Canberra, including Albert Hall, Fitters Workshop, Yarralumla Woolshed, Oaks Estate Community Hall, Former Transport Depot, and Tharwa Community Room.
The Venue Operations Manager position is responsible for overseeing all booking enquiries and venue hire arrangements for these venues. The position will supervise staff but will also have an active role in bookings processes, interactions with clients, and promotion of the venues. This role requires excellent coordination and interpersonal skills. The manager will take ownership of the day-to-day operations, ensuring prospective clients receive professional and efficient service. Responding efficiently and always with a smile, the manager will make clients feel informed and well-supported.
Key responsibilities include managing booking enquiries and venue hire arrangements, ensuring professional and efficient service for clients. The manager will assess booking requests and make recommendations based on client needs. Additionally, they will handle financial records and invoicing, promote venues through various platforms, and manage a small team. The manager will also oversee facility operations, prepare responses to official documents, and support other venue hire tasks as needed. A friendly and professional demeanour will help create a positive experience for all clients, and a detail-oriented and problem-solving nature will allow the manager to succeed in the role.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
