Details: The Prequalification Team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill the full-time vacancy of a Prequalification Officer.

The primary responsibilities for this position as a team member, are to assist with the administration of all operations and functions of the Prequalification Team.

The Prequalification Team administers the ACT Government’s Prequalification Schemes as well as two National Prequalification Schemes for Building Non-Residential ($50m and greater) and Civil Road and Bridge. The Prequalification Team is led by the Director, Prequalification.

Prequalification is a mandatory requirement when construction industry companies wish to tender for ACT Government work

The Prequalification Team provides a central assessment and risk mitigant service, to the Territory when engaging contractors in the construction industry for works for the Territory.

We mitigate these through the rigorous technical and financial assessment of prequalification applications and provide support and education of the prequalification schemes to directorate and industry partners and contribute to two National Scheme Working Groups.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

The applicant should have existing knowledge, or the ability to gain an understanding of the Prequalification Schemes and applying financial assessment criteria to applicants, seeking Prequalification with the Territory.

The applicant will need to have the ability to understand the relative insurance requirements for contractors as well as Management System certification.

Desirables

  • Business entity structure knowledge including a basic understanding of the structure of Financial Statements and Profit and Loss Statements.
  • Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet knowledge and skill.

Note: This is a temporary position available 14 April 2025 to 19 September 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
