Description of Board/Committee/Council

Expressions of interest are invited from qualified people to join the Board of Directors of the Canberra Innovation Network (CBRIN) as an Independent Director.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation and making a positive impact in the ACT’s economy.

CBRIN, established in 2014, is a not-for-profit organisation and supports innovation and entrepreneurship in the ACT.  It is a partnership between the ACT Government and Canberra’s world class tertiary education and research institutions.

About the role

CBRIN’s Board of Directors sets its strategic direction, ensures good governance and oversees its operations and finances. The Board strengthens CBRIN’s position as an ecosystem enabler by fostering relationships with government and industry and supports the achievement of its vision and objectives to realise positive socio-economic outcomes in the ACT.

As an Independent Director you will be part of at least one Board sub-committee and attend sub-committee meetings.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and board experience, knowledge and experience of ACT’s innovation ecosystem and knowledge-based industry sectors, and have astute judgement when it comes to good governance and recognising and managing potential conflicts of interest.
