Details: We are seeking an Assistant Director, Event Systems and Framework Review to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality events across our diverse indoor and outdoor venues at the National Arboretum Canberra and UC Stromlo Forest Park. In this position you will review our event management framework to improve efficiencies and information management, ensure compliance with WHS, emergency, risk, and security protocols, and manage commercial and third-party operator involvement.
Key responsibilities include developing effective event and venue policies and procedures, managing cross-government coordination and risk, and ensuring the customer journey aligns with best practices. You will handle procurement, continue implementing the CRM system, and report on program deliverables.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
Essential:
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
- Possession of or the ability to acquire a first aid certificate.
Desirable:
- Driver’s License
- Tertiary qualifications in event management, project management, business management or a related field is highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours including outside core business hours, extended hours, weekends and public holidays during event delivery periods is required.
Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
