Details: The Public Sector Work Health Safety and Wellbeing team (WHSW) in Work Safety Group is responsible for ACT public sector strategies policies and programs in the areas of health, wellbeing, safety and injury management. This includes oversight of the ACT public sector work health and safety management system.
The WHSW team works closely with ACT Government directorates/agencies and external stakeholders to drive improved health, wellbeing, safety and injury management performance and culture across the ACT Public Sector (ACTPS). We operate at the whole of government level through a broad remit and ambitious agenda to reduce safety incidents and injuries and support employees to recover at / return to work after illness or injury. Our work supports the work participation and productivity of the entire ACTPS workforce.
We are looking for people to fill two vacancies at the Assistant Director (SOGC) level.
These roles would suit people with knowledge and experience in WHS, workplace wellbeing or work rehabilitation who are also broad thinkers and have the capacity and eagerness to pivot from an operational context to working at a more strategic level. People with additional or other skill sets in project management, communication, change management or learning and development may find these advantageous to the role. The ability to engage with and positively influence our diverse stakeholders across the ACTPS is essential.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
- Qualifications /training and/or practical experience in WHS, workplace wellbeing or work rehabilitation would be highly regarded.
- Qualifications /training and/or practical experience in project management, change management, learning and development or communications would also be advantageous to the role.
Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
