Details: The Medical Administration Registrar, ACT Health Directorate (ACTHD), will work in partnership with units across the ACT Health Directorate to improve health care outcomes and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living the ACT and surrounding regions.
The specific requirements of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO) and the Office of Professional Leadership and Education (OPLE) are to increase the Indigenous medical workforce, and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to ensure clinical care is safe, of high quality, and culturally responsive. The position will ensure that issues of concern to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are built into safety and quality initiatives of OCMO and connected to the Cultural Integrity Committee outputs of the ACTHD.
Operating under the direction of the CMO and other qualified fellows and associate fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) you will:
- Lead projects relevant to clinical system governance including the implementation of the ACT Health Quality Strategy 2018-2028, quality and safety reviews, analysis of clinical quality and safety data and related quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This will include a First Nations focus.
- Positively engage with relevant stakeholders, develop policy/framework documents and prepare Ministerial and Executive briefings in relation to clinical system governance, clinical networks, quality improvement and patient safety strategies, frameworks and other related matters.
- Support the development of medical workforce strategies across the ACT and provide ongoing connections between national medical workforce initiatives, ACT jurisdictional initiatives and medical workforce initiatives within public and private health services in the ACT and surrounding region.
- Collaborate with other members of the ACTHD and other ACT health service stakeholders to attract a high-quality medical workforce and improve wellbeing with a specific focus on supporting First Nations medical workforce.
- Undertake a research or quality improvement project, as required by the RACMA fellowship or associate fellowship program.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
1. Medical Practitioner with, at least, general registration with the Medical Board of Australia
2. Acceptance into the RACMA Fellowship Training Program and be a candidate in good standing
