Details:

The Victims of Crime Commissioner, as part of the ACT Human Rights Commission, works with the Coordinator-General for Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, and the Domestic Violence Crisis Service, to deliver the Family Violence Safety Action Program (FVSAP).  Established in 2020, the FVSAP seeks to improve the safety of victim survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence by promoting collaboration and information sharing among justice and other agencies involved in risk assessment and management of high risk FDV cases. The Victims of Crime Commissioner also oversees a specialist team within VSACT, the Sexual Violence Response Team, with a focus on delivery of the Wraparound Support Program, implementation of recommendations arising from the Sexual Assault (Police) Review Report and case coordination and advocacy for victim survivors of sexual violence. FVSAP and the SVRT collaborate in light of the significant overlap of family, domestic and sexual violence matters.

The Senior Director, Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of the Family Violence Safety Action Program (FVSAP). The Senior Director will work closely with the Victims of Crime Commissioner and the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Office to strategically orient the program, while consolidating policies and priorities. The Senior Director will invest in strong working relationships to foster active stakeholder understanding and engagement with the goals of the FVSAP, and to inform ongoing monitoring and development of FVSAP processes.  The Senior Director will chair fortnightly collaborative meetings with program stakeholders with the goal of sharing information, building trust between agencies and developing a strong focus on DFV perpetrator accountability. Between meetings, the Senior Director will support the FVSAP team to advocate for agency implementation of agreed action plans. This role will also include overseeing data collection and undertaking research and analysis to support improvements in the ACT’s DFV service system.

With a focus on operational leadership and support for FVSAP, the Senior Director will also have oversight of Victim Support ACT’s specialist sexual violence response team (SVRT), with the Director of SVRT as a direct report. The Senior Director will provide leadership to the SVRT to ensure cohesion and collaboration between FVSAP and SVRT, in light of the significant overlap of family, sexual and domestic violence matters.
